Our Company

High Mountain Gardeners is a locally-owned landscaping company specializing in sustainable garden design and maintenance. Our team is based in Carbondale, Colorado and provide our services to clients throughout the Roaring Fork Valley, from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. We offer a full array of seasonal landscaping services from April to November, making it easy for our clients to enjoy their well-maintained gardens.

Our History

High Mountain Gardeners was founded in 2002 by owners Eric Baumheier and Michael Scher. Michael’s son Noah Scher soon joined the company as an owner. HMG employs a wonderful, hardworking crew of seasonal gardeners that all share a passion for working with their hands and spending time outdoors.

Since 2002, we have grown to serve over 50 clients in the Roaring Fork Valley and have greatly expanded our services. With over 18 years of professional experience, we treasure the relationships we have with our clients and the rewards that come from investing in their gardens.

Our Sustainable Approach

At HMG, we continually strive to operate as sustainably and low impact as possible. We choose to use organic and non-toxic methods of gardening, fertilizing, weed and pest control. Supporting our local plant growers and nearby nurseries is also very important to us. Our team composts all garden waste that we remove from client’s properties and we recycle what we can.
